Aristotelica actively promotes the plurality of scholarly approaches to Aristotle, to the Aristotelian tradition and to their reception from antiquity to the present, with particular attention to the philological soundness and historical accuracy of articles. The journal values the exchange between different schools and interpretative traditions, and it encourages the participation of scholars from diverse social, academic, geographic, and cultural backgrounds.
Submissions offering innovative or underrepresented perspectives are welcome, provided they are based on textual accuracy, linguistic competence, and historical depth. Critical dialogue between divergent interpretations is considered a key element in the advancement of research.

Peer-Review policy
Papers submitted to Aristotelica are first evaluated by the Editorial Board to determine whether the topic is within the journal’s remit and whether appropriate academic standards have been followed. Submissions which do not meet these criteria are normally rejected within two to three weeks.
Submissions judged to be suitable then proceed to a double-blind peer review process. On the basis of the reviewers’ reports, papers are either accepted for publication, usually with minor revisions, returned to the author(s) for major revision or rejected.
Each article is initially evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief, the Co-Editor, or a member of the editorial board, who assesses its scholarly validity, clarity, relevance, and formal compliance with the journal’s guidelines. If deemed suitable, it is submitted to a double-blind peer review. The evaluation is entrusted to two expert reviewers, selected for their competence and independence from the author. In case of conflicting evaluations, a third reviewer is commissioned.
Submissions by editorial board members, including the editors, are evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers.
Conflicts of interest (arising from recent collaborations, competition, or affiliation) must be disclosed by both authors and reviewers. Any procedural dispute is managed by the editorial board according to impartiality criteria, and corrections and retractions are handled in accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
The selection of texts for publication is based exclusively on their scholarly quality, originality, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal and to the specific topic set out in any call for papers. The editorial board informs authors of the requirements their articles must meet and of the editorial guidelines. The board will explain the reasons for any rejection.
Self-Archiving policy
Deposit of articles in institutional open access repositories is allowed for preprint ('submitted'), postprint (or AAM, 'accepted author manuscript') and editorial pdf (VoR, 'Version of Record').
